O.J. Simpson pursuit

By Kolb

It was 1994 when millions of Americans watched the O.J. Simpson pursuit. Every TV-channel in the country broadcasted the pursuit with live coverage. Even the NBA championship game between the Knicks and the Houston Rockets was interrupted to air the pursuit.

Approximately 150 million people worldwide watched the slow-speed chase on TV.
What makes this so special is O.J. Simpson was on the verge of committing suicide.

Read this letter, especially the lines at the end are important.

"Don’t feel sorry for me. I’ve had a great life, great friends. Please think of the real O.J. and not this lost person. Thanks for making my life special. I hope I helped yours. Peace and love, O.J. [smiley face inside the O]"

Only imagine what a shock this would be if he really committed suicide live on TV, for everyone to see. I call it the first reality TV.

The thing I remember the most was the image of the Ford with O.J. and his friend cruising on a highway followed by a few dozen police vehicles.
