Jazzmatazz - Hip hop flavored with jazz

This is great. Take some hip hop, mix it with funky jazz and you have wonderful relax music. Jazzmatazz is a series of albums by Guru. This is one of the first albums in which a fusion of jazz and hip hop went mainstream. The jazz tunes with a hard hip hop beat are a perfect combination and fit in smooth with the lyrics.
Guru is a hip hop artist from the NY based group Gang Starr, which started in the late '80s, topped in the first half of the '90s, an icon nowadays. A serious reference. Oldskool with respect.
There are 3 albums, Volume 1 (1993), Volume 2 The New Reality (1995) and Volume 3 Streetsoul (2000). Every album is definitely worth listening if you are into open minded hip hop. The albums features songs with some famous names in both the jazz and hip hop scene. Among which are MC Solaar, Jamiroquai, The Roots, Isaac Hayes and many many more. All in the house.
