Jazzmatazz 4 - Coming soon!

By Kolb

Upcoming early 2007 is the eagerly expected Jazzmatazz 4 release. Earlier this year I expressed my love for the series.
The album will be a double disc pleasure machine. Guru collaborated with his longtime friend Solar and co-produced the album.

According to some words in the press, the new album will be going back to the roots. More like the first two CDs. The latest release in 2000, Jazzmatazz 3 – Streetsoul, was in my opinion not so good as his predecessor. Too much commercial R&B.

Hopefully, that will change. And it looks promising.

“The tracks Solar and I have laid down are incredible and it’s going to be the best Jazzmatazz yet”
and
On the new Jazzmatazz Vol 4 I am not constrained to specific types of collaborations or any musical guidelines since Jazzmatazz has evolved into its own musical genre in itself. The new album contains not only Hip Hop and Jazz but elements of Soul, Funk, Rock and more. Jazzmatazz Vol 4 is the future of great music with substance and character that makes the listener feel good again!

I’ll keep you updated.

  2. Watch for a young Trinidadian born, NYC schooled blazing trumpet player appearing on Jazzmatazz 4 – BROWNMAN. Brown is touring america with Guru this summer and is featured on the track “Universal Struggle”. He currently resides in Toronto, Canada and has been called “Canada’s preeminent jazz trumpet player” by the New York Times. Watch for this young brother.
